13-15th September 2005, Bremen, Germany 17-Sep-2005: Thanks to all participants for excellent presentations and discussions. We saw the full spectrum of Jebel Akhdar's diverse geology and biostratigraphic studies. Type sections are now well dated and Libyan specialists work on all major fossil groups that help to establish a high resolution multiple biostratigraphic framework for regional and interregional correlations. A variety of ideas exist on how to take this important work further into the future, as discussed during a fruitful plenum at the end of the workshop. Thanks to PRC, LBG and NARG for hosting this event especially to the Workshop Chairman Dr. Bourima Belgasem and to my co-organizers Abuagila El-Harbi (PRC) and Ali Mehdawi (LBG). We are grateful to the sponsors Wintershall, Remsa, Shell and the Academy of Graduate Studies (Tripoli) whose generous contributions made this workshop possible. Sebastian Lüning
